A treasure from the late 1970’s, the ski legendary brand Sunpocket makes a celebrated comeback with its signature sunglasses.
The story behind Sunpocket begins in France in the late 1970’s. The foldable shades mixed functionality and design like never before and become an instant hit for the ski fans.
The 80’s Era During the 1980’s Sunpocket became enormously popular all over Europe and elsewhere, especially among adventurous sport addicts. Sunpocket’s success didn’t stop there, it also became an “it” item in high street fashion. The colourful foldable shades with their mirror shaded glass introduced a combination of funkiness, functionality, and rock ´n roll into the 80´s eyewear fashion scene.
The Rebirth After the 80’s boom, Sunpocket slowly phased out. Even though Sunpocket was gone, it was definitely not forgotten. When a pair of Sunpocket originals was found in a cottage in Trysil, a Norwegian ski resort, the legend was back. Re-launched in 2011, Sunpocket has been re-editing and reinventing the collections without compromising on the high quality lenses and superior protection. The French label has now become Swedish, but the soul of the original brand remains.
